Nail Art - Abstract Design

Products used: 220/240 Grit Nail File, 2-in-1 Base Coat, Twiggy, Fairy Pink, Jet Black, Detail BrushGel'ous Top Coat, Cuticle Oil

STEP 1

Prepare your nail plate by removing cuticles (see our Essentials Manicure tutorial) and shaping nails using a 220/240 file.

STEP 2

Apply 2-in-1 Base Coat to prep and strengthen nails, and improve polish longevity.

STEP 3

Apply 2 layers of your base colour. You can either paint the whole nail, or part of it to create negative space. Allow each layer to fully dry for 2-3 minutes before painting any details.

STEP 4

Take your second colour and apply one layer so it slightly overlaps your base colour - don’t worry about it being neat or uniform! Using Jet Black and a small nail art brush (either a Liner or Detail brush), draw a variety of lines, dots, and other shapes on-top and around the other polish. Repeat the previous steps to create a full set of abstract designs, varying the amount and shape of negative space and details per nail.

STEP 5

Apply Gel'ous Top Coat to seal and protect your design for up to 7 days, and give it a glossy gel-like finish!

STEP 6

Finish with Cuticle Oil to nourish and hydrate your nails.
